The U.S. government has opened a preliminary examination into complaints of stalling engines in over 40,000 Toyota Highlander hybrids. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website reports it had received 32 complaints regarding stalling engines in Highlander hybrids from the 2006 model year.
